Jul 3, 2019 · 1996 Sportsman 500 - Ignition Coil Test results. I have a no spark situation with my 1996 Sportsman 500. I tested the the coil and got some readings that were slightly over what the manual says. The manual shows 0.3 ohms (Primary) and 6.3K ohms (Secondardy) but I got .4 ohms on the Primary and 6.5K on the Secondary. Thanks to them, our trusty old Polaris Sportsman 500 will be scouting, hunting, and plowing for years to come.
